The Ultrasound tech took every measurement and said that my fluids were good, the brain and spine looked good, and in fact, the hands and feet were HUGE! Furthermore, she said that the head was sitting very low (yes, lady, and my bladder agrees) and that the head was measuring 35 WEEKS! Yes- at 32 weeks, this supposed teeny baby that from the outside of my abdomen is 3 centimeters too small really has a huge dome and gigantic hands and feet! I know where he/she gets the hands and feet from but the big head?
At 36 weeks, I had another Ultrasound to further assess the baby's size- again big hands, big feet, BIG head. But this time the head measured the size a 37 week old baby. And based on all the measurements, the baby supposedly weighed 7 pounds at that point. If you do the math, that could be a 9 pound baby by delivery! OUCH!
And now for your viewing pleasure- some more belly pics...but first, here are the things that are currently happening to me because of my growing belly...
my belly button becomes more misshapen (no- it is not an out-y yet), I am seeing less and less of my feet (which I previously bragged that I would see my entire foot), I have to rethink how I tie my shoes and put on my socks, I find myself grunting when I bend down to get anything lower than knee height, and painting my own toenails now is completely out of the question! Thank goodness I have a gift certificate to get those tootsies done (thanks Rachel and Melissa!)

Wow! There really is a baby in there! You are the cutest preggo lady ever. And the baby is very cute too (in bump form). Tell baby that Auntie Mary loves him-her. Uncle Jason just wants to go over a few psych theories with him-her! Love you! Mary
ReplyDeleteMaybe Uncle Jason should go over those theories with him/her just before bedtime to really put the baby to sleep!
